Brand behind Pampers launches charitable Facebook campaign
A major name behind such labels as Pampers and Pringles has launched a Facebook campaign to aid children in developing countries in a move likely to inspire professionals in marketing jobs.
P&G announced yesterday (January 25th) that it would donate a day of clean drinking water to impoverished children for every ‘like’ it received on its Facebook fan page.
Entitled the Children’s Safe Drinking Water (CSDW) Programme, it is aimed at battling the epidemic of unclean water, which takes the lives of more than 4,000 children in developing countries everyday.
Director of the P&G CSDW Programme Dr Greg Allgood said: “I’ve seen this work save lives.
“I can’t wait to launch this campaign that makes it literally as easy as the click of a mouse for other people to get involved in making a difference and helping us save lives.”
The CSDW project was first initiated in 2004 and has since provided more than four billion litres of clean drinking water to over 65 developing countries.
